Review - Cougar Bait by Evangeline Anderson (Cougarville #2)

Cougar Bait (Cougarville) - Evangeline Anderson

Cougar Bait

Cougarville #2

by Evangeline Anderson

Goodreads blurb:  Samantha Becker is a busy and talented trauma surgeon with no time for nonsense. Her sister may have a special Shifter Gene, but Sammie is fairly certain she doesn’t have it, and she’s happy with her life the way it is. She doesn’t need the complicated Shifter lifestyle, and she certainly doesn’t need Liam Keller: Alpha cougar, Mayor of Cougarville and undercover billionaire. She hates him, but Liam is unable to get the curvy surgeon out of his head.

But the Shifter world isn’t ready to let Sammie go. She’s being stalked by someone who’s desperate for Shifter hormones, and Liam takes it upon himself to protect Sammie from harm. Things begin heating up between Sammie and Liam, but will they have to succumb to their inner animals in order to save Sammie’s life?

Cougar Bait is fun, sexy and will take readers on an emotional thrill ride.

About the Author:  Evangeline Anderson is a registered MRI tech who would rather be writing. And yes, she is nerdy enough to have a bumper sticker that says “I’d rather be writing.” Honk if you see her! She is thirty-something and lives in Florida with a husband, a son, and two cats. She had been writing erotic fiction for her own gratification for a number of years before it occurred to her to try and get paid for it. To her delight, she found that it was actually possible to get money for having a dirty mind and she has been writing paranormal and Sci-fi erotica steadily ever since.

My Thoughts - 5 out of 5 Unicorns - I loved it!!!

***I choose what I read and review based on what intrigues me!!  Yes, I got a review copy of this book, but no one tells me what to think, feel, or write about any book!

This is the 2nd book in the series, and it is for adults only due to the violence and steamy content.  In this book, there is the sensitive topics abduction and threat of rape.  I mention it for those readers who may be affected by these topics.  I also highly recommend reading the books in order because it makes it so much more together!!

This is Samantha’s story who is Sadie’s twin from book 1.  When I read a new author, my love for them tends to grow as I read a series.  Well I’ve fallen for Evangeline’s work completely in love with it now!  She had me from the start with this book.  There is tons of action, build-up, treachery, saving, and romance.  There is also plenty of good news.  Sammie is amazing and strong in character especially with all the battles she has in this book.  I love her fighting spirit and that she doesn’t give up though she does get scared and occasionally stupid, but so does Keller.  Keller has been hurt in the past, and you can tell in the story how much it still controls him.  There are miscommunications galore, but thankfully they have friends and family to help them get their stuff together.

I can’t wait to see what happens next in this series!  I really hope all the characters continue to be a part of each other stories because I love them all!

I highly recommend this unique shifter world to all fans of shifters especially if you love all kinds of shifters!

See my review of Buck Naked!!!

Review - Buck Naked by Evangeline Anderson (Cougarville #1)

Buck Naked (Cougarville) - Evangeline Anderson

Buck Naked

Cougarville #1

by Evangeline Anderson

Goodreads blurb:  Sadie Becker is not herself. A 40-year-old, divorced mother of two, Sadie wakes up one morning and realizes that she looks and feels like she did in her twenties. Suddenly she’s unable to walk around in her new town of Cougarville without men falling at her feet. Confused and alone, Sadie isn’t sure who to turn to…except answers to her problems might reside with her broodingly handsome reclusive neighbor, Mathis.

An alpha shifter, Mathis lost the love of his life, and he knows he’ll never find another mate. But his innocent new neighbor clearly doesn’t know the danger she’s in, and he's the only one who can save her.

But when the attraction pulls too strong, will Mathis’ animal nature be unleashed and claim Sadie for his own? Buck Naked is a sexy, emotional thrill-ride that will hook readers on this fantastic new series.

My Thoughts - 4 out of 5 Unicorns - I really liked it!!!

***I choose what I read and review based on what intrigues me!!  I got a review copy of book 2, and I wanted to read book 1 first, so I bought it.  No one tells me what to think, feel, or write about any book!

This is the first book in the series.  It is for adults only due to the graphic violence and steamy scenes.  This is my first time reading any of Evangeline’s work.

This is definitely an interesting and unique world.  Like Sadie, I was lost as to what a Juvie was and what this new world was about until Mathis explained it.  You really feel and understand what Sadie is going through because you were just as confused.  Mathis is gruff and standoffish, but you don’t understand until later when he tells his story.  Keller is really a jerk, and I’m not sure I even like him.  We will see if he redeems himself in the future.  Sammie is pretty cool, and I love her spunky attitude.  It will be interesting to see if she will follow her sister and become a Juvie.

Evangeline does a fantastic job making the story come alive, and I can definitely see this series getting better and better.  It takes me a couple books before I really mesh with a new author’s style and writing.  I can’t wait to see what happens in book 2.

I recommend this series to any shifter fan who wants a unique new world that isn’t the norm.

Review - Hard to Handle by Christine Warren (Gargoyles #5)

Hard to Handle (Gargoyles Series) - Christine Warren

My Thoughts - 5 out of 5 Unicorns - I loved it!!

***I choose what I read and review based on what intrigues me!!

The cover is deceiving because you think you are looking at the Guardian, but you are not!  Tricky Tricky!

This is the 5th book in the series, and it is for adults only due to the steamy content.  I highly recommend reading the series in order because the characters are much better when you understand them through their own book story :)

This book departs from tradition, and I loved it! I was very confused in the beginning, but I don’t usually read the blurbs because I like to be surprised.  And I was surprised!

At first I thought Drum was a tool, but he was protective where his family was concerned which I admired.  I think he didn’t realize how much potential he had in the wake of his mom and sisters’ talents and thinking his was nothing of value and only a parlor trick.  I grow fond of him especially his protective streak.  Ash is a typical warrior and also more lost than most Guardians due to the circumstance surrounding her.  She is just as protective as Drum, and it makes for entertainment for sure!  Of course, I really loved when Kylie and Wynn joined with snarky conversations that are most amusing.  I couldn’t put this book down, and I’m sick as a dog right now!

I highly recommend this book and series to all readers to love rock hard men…and woman….get your minds out of the gutters…gargoyles rule!  You definitely want to read if you love Christine’s work too!  I can’t wait to see what Christine sculpts next!

Review - Bodyguard Bear by Zoe Chant (Protection, Inc #1)

Bodyguard Bear: BBW Bear Shifter Paranormal Romance (Protection, Inc. Book 1) - Zoe Chant

My Thoughts - 5 out of 5 Unicorns - I loved it!!!

***I choose what I read and review based on what intrigues me!!

This cover is fabulous with both beasts on it!  This happens to be my favorite kind of cover because you know what kind of shifter you are getting and that it is definitely a shifter read!  I own this whole series!

This is the first book in this series, and it is for adults only due to the steamy content.

Zoe Chant’s books are fast becoming my standard for picking a book that I can finish in one setting.  Her books always leave me feeling happy with my heart warmed.

Ellie is a paramedic with integrity who is insanely brave.  Hal is a bear who takes his job seriously and his mate even more so!  This story was action packed and as always I couldn’t put it down.  I can’t wait to see what happens next in this series!

I highly recommend to anyone if you have liked any of Zoe’s books so far, and if you haven’t what are you waiting for, her books rock!

Review - Black Bear Buns by Sable Sylvan (The Twelve Dancing Bears #3)

Black Bear Buns: A BBW Bear Shifter Menage Paranormal Romance Novella (The Twelve Dancing Bears Book 3) - Sable Sylvan

My Thoughts - 5 out of 5 Unicorns - I loved it!!!

***I choose what I read and review based on what intrigues me!!

The cover is sparkly and has both the beasts and their bears on it!

This is the 3rd book in the series.  Of course this is for adults only due to the steamy content and yes it involves a trio or triad as it is called.

This book had me from the start.  I loved the mystery and the fact that it brings the Asher-Dixon clan into the series.  This book had many twists, turns, and intrigues concerning Ann.  Plenty of content to keep you gripped in the story and what was happening.

While it is not required to read the other books in the series, I do recommend it because it is interesting and unique.  Authors always amaze me with their creativity especially when it involves shifters which are my favorite.

If you are a bear lover or already love Sable, then you won’t want to miss this story!

Review - Firefighter Griffin by Zoe Chant (Fire & Rescue Shifters #3)

Firefighter Griffin: BBW Lion/Eagle Shifter Romance (Fire & Rescue Shifters Book 3) - Zoe Chant

My Thoughts - 5 out of 5 Unicorns - I loved it!!!

***I choose what I read and review based on what intrigues me!!

This cover is another attention grabber and of course I bought it.

This is the 3rd book in the series, and it is for adults only due to the steamy content.  While you do not have to read all the books in order, you will be missing out if you don’t read them all and in order.  You will quickly fall for the whole team!

I really loved this book!  Griff is an amazing character who is easy to fall in love with, but I’ve had no trouble doing that with the whole squad.  Every story is packed and grabs your attention and doesn’t let go.  I couldn’t put the book down.  I admire Hayley and think her son Danny are the perfect duo for Griff.  You will not be disappointed with this HEA.  I can’t wait to see whose story is next!

Zoe Chant has slid into my favorites list with her witty stories that pull me right into the story and have me gripped in the characters’ lives and lovin’ each and every one of them.

I highly recommend this book and the entire series to all the shifter fans who want to read about the mythic shifters who are a band of sexy firemen who will set your hearts on fire with their stories.

Review - Wolf Unleashed by Paige Tyler (SWAT: Special Wolf Alpha Team #5)

Wolf Unleashed (SWAT) - Paige Tyler

My Thoughts - 5 out of 5 Unicorns - I loved it!!!

***I choose what I read and review based on what intrigues me!!

The cover is a work of art!

This is the 5th book in the series, but the first one I’ve read.  I’m doing this backwards because I own all of the other books.  I’m definitely going to go back and read these maybe during Christmas break.  This book is for adults only due to the steamy scenes.

Lacey is a veterinarian who has trust issues with men.  Alex is definitely an Alpha, but he has a sweet side that shows often.  Lots of bad things happening around town drugs, dog fighting, and missing girls.  This book is action packed!  I loved every moment of reading it and can’t wait to read the rest of them.

Paige’s words bring the story to life in my mind as I’m reading.  I highly recommend if you love shifters and Alpha men who come to the rescue, then you definitely want to read this book and probably the whole series!

Review - Wild Rain by Christine Feehan (Leopard People #2)

Wild Rain (A Leopard Novel) by Christine Feehan (2004-01-27) - Christine Feehan

My Thoughts - 5 out of 5 Unicorns - I loved it!!!

***I choose what I read and review based on what intrigues me!!

I own this book in paperback, and it is the 2nd book in the series and a full novel. This is for adults only due to the steamy content.

I loved Rio and Rachael’s story.  It was full of action and twists and turns.  I especially loved Fritz and Franz.  Rachael is full of spirit and stands for what she believes in.  They both have a past that they aren’t really interested in sharing.  Rio has more heart and character than he sees in himself.  They are both an awesome pair of leads.  I couldn’t put the book down.

Christine Feehan weaves a great tale.  I have loved most of the books I’ve read of hers.  This is probably my second time reading the book.  I haven’t read it in a while and never reviewed it before.  I’m going to read them all!

I highly recommend this book to all the shifter lovers especially if you already love Christine Feehan and big cats!

Review - Hunt the Dawn by Abbie Roads (Fatal Dreams #2)

Hunt the Dawn - Abbie Roads

My Thoughts - 5 out of 5 Unicorns - I loved it!!!

***I choose what I read and review based on what intrigues me!!

The cover is mysterious and haunting all at the same time intriguing you into picking up the book!  I won a copy of this book in paperback, but I loved the book so much that I bought the ebook too to support the author.

This is the 2nd book in the series.  It is for adults only due to the graphic scenes as well as the steamy scenes.

Abbie has quickly found her way onto my favorites list for go to author’s for awesome reads.  I can’t even put into words all the emotions and the depths each book goes into with layer upon layer of mysteries and plot.  She has paranormal with murder mystery suspense, romance mixed with myth, and so much more.

This is Lathan’s story, and you are briefly introduced to him in the first book.  I recommend reading both books in order because it definitely enriches reading book 2.  Evanee and Lathan both have major stories all by themselves.  This book was just as surprising as book 1 was with the twists and turns along the way which I wasn’t able to predict which is always a lovely surprise.  I don’t want to give anything away, so you just have to read it and see for yourself.

I highly recommend this book and series to adults who love murder mysteries mixed with paranormal elements, myths, and romance!  This book has it all!  Don’t miss reading it!

Review - License to Shift by Kathy Lyons (Grizzlies Gone Wild #2)

License to Shift (Grizzlies Gone Wild) - Kathy Lyons My Thoughts - 5 out of 5 Unicorns - I loved it!!! ***I choose what I read and review based on what intrigues me!! The cover is awesome! Both beasts look beautiful! This is the 2nd book in the series. It is for adults only due to the steamy scenes. I’m glad that this is Mark’s story. I was wondering about him in the first book. Julie and Mark have a history where they both read too much into things that happened in their pasts. I love Julie’s character because I like to admire the characters rather than hate them. I don’t want to spoil anything, so all I will tell you is that there is plenty of action in this book, and I couldn’t put it down. I highly recommend to anyone who loves bear shifters and especially if you already love Kathy Lyons, you will want to read this story!

Review - The Day Human Way by B. Kristin McMichael (Day Human Trilogy #3)

The Day Human Way (The Day Human Trilogy) (Volume 3) - B. Kristin McMichael

My Thoughts - 4 out of 5 unicorns - I really liked it!

***I choose what I read and review based on what intrigues me!!

The cover is another work of art!

This is the 3rd book in the series.  It is a YA series and the 2nd series in the Night Human World.

I always enjoy the books from this series.  The sidhe are a tricky and complicated race of people.  They are always throwing complications Devin’s way.  This book is no exception.  There is a lot going on and surprises throughout.  This is a great YA series.  If you have a student who loves paranormal and fantasy type books, then this world is for them.

I can’t wait to see where the next series in the Night Human world, and I hope to see Cassie again in this book as well as the rest of my favorite Night Human World characters.

I recommend this series and world to all the YA lovers of paranormal and fantasy worlds!

Review - Lucifer by D. B. Reynolds (Vampires in America #11)

Lucifer: Vampires in America: The Vampire Wars, Book 11 - D. B. Reynolds

My Thoughts - 5 out of 5 Unicorns - I loved it!!

***I choose what I read and review based on what intrigues me!!

The cover definitely fits with the rest of them like works of art that should be appreciated.

This is the 11th book in the series (not counting novellas).  This series is for adults who are not of the faint of heart.  There is violence and love in spades.

I really love D.B. Reynolds writing style.  Her books are packed with action, intrigue, and baggage to go with the vampires’ long lives.  I’m always intrigued and never want to put the book down whichever one it is.  Her humor written through makes me laugh.  She always takes you on an emotionally journey.

Lucifer and Eleanor’s story is just as fantastic as I find each story to be.  This story mostly takes place in Canada in Sophia’s territory.  I don’t want to give anything away, so read the blurb and if you are intrigued, you definitely want to read this book.

I highly recommend the entire series to vampire fanatics who understand the powerful relationships with vampires.  In this series, there is NEVER a dull moment!

Review - Wisdom of the Centaurs' Reason by L.R.W. Lee (Andy Smithson #6)

Wisdom of the Centaurs' Reason: Teen & Young Adult Centaur Epic Fantasy Book (Andy Smithson 6) - L. R. W. Lee

My Thoughts - 5 out of 5 Unicorns - I loved it!!!

***I choose what I read and review based on what intrigues me!!

The cover is wonderful!  They always draw you to the book.

This is the 6th book in the series, and it is targeted toward middle grade students.  However, I think any fantasy lover would love this series at any age.  This book does involve dealing with death and loss.

I am definitely not an eloquent person.  This is why I read, and don’t write.  This series always amazes me with the complex layers of story and meaning that is interwoven through the series.  I have fallen into love with the journey into saving Oomaldee, and Andy learning many life lessons along the way.  Andy grows with each book.  This book was another tear jerker.  My heart ached for Andy continuously, and I wanted to vanquish Abaddon and his minions for Andy.  You know in live how you tend to wish for miracles; well I found myself wishing that for Andy and his kingdom.

This book and the whole series is an outstanding and moving.  I think everyone should read a series that evokes so much emotion and especially the moral issues that are presented and make this book so much bigger than just an adventure.  I can’t wait for the next book, but at the same time, I’m going to go into mourning as it will be the last book.  Have you ever had those feelings when a series ended?

I highly recommend this book and series to those fantasy lovers who want to read a well-crafted story filled to the brim with emotions and life lessons!

Review - Fire Wolf by J.K. Harper (Black Mesa Wolves #6) (Dallas Fire & Rescue: Kindle Worlds)

Dallas Fire & Rescue: Fire Wolf (Kindle Worlds Novella) (Black Mesa Wolves Book 0) - J.K. Harper

My Thoughts - 4 out of 5 Unicorns - I really liked it!!

***I choose what I read and review based on what intrigues me!!

This is the 6th book in the Black Mesa Wolves series which I am familiar with and have read several of, but I have not read any of the Dallas Fire & Rescue series which this is a Kindle Worlds novella of.  It is for adults only due to the steamy content.  It is only about 75 pages, so it is a quick read.

Tanner has a tragic back story that made me cry as it unfolded.  Jordyn has baggage too, but they only make vague references to hers.  I really liked both of them.  There were definitely times when you were thinking that they both needed to be slapped to help get their heads on straight.  The story kept me engaged and made me not want to put the story down.  Most of the pack that you know is not in this story.  A great addition to the series!  Can’t wait for more!

I recommend this book to all of the Black Mesa Wolves lovers because if you love your wolf shifters and J.K. Harper, you don’t want to miss this story!

Review - Run Fur Love by Catherine Vale

Run Fur Love (BBW Tiger Shifter Romance) - Catherine Vale

My Thoughts - 4 out of 5 Unicorns - I really liked  it!!!

***I choose what I read and review based on what intrigues me!!

The cover is pretty awesome!  My favorite shifter covers always have both beautiful beasts on it, and this one also has the bike and tat too!

This is a standalone book that as far as I can tell is not a series.  This is an adult book due to the steamy content and violence.

Harley definitely intrigues me because she is human but has the fierceness of a shifter.  Jericho falls hard for Harley, and they have quite a journey together.  I liked all the action, and I was pulled into the story.  I don’t want to give anything away because the journey is part of the adventure, so read the blurb and if you love shifters especially of the tiger variety you will want to read this one!!

I recommend this book to all the tiger shifter lovers especially if you love Catherine’s work!
